An old gardener keeps a hall of sleeping seeds aboard a station built for a crew that left long ago — wheat from a valley now under the sea, an orchard folded down to a handful of stones. Then a message comes up from below: storage is enough. Growing is sentiment. The station is to be thinned.
Season One has followed responsibility as a shape that keeps changing: a watch kept without thanks, a hand passed to someone still unmet, a debt no coin could close. The fifth tale asks what a person owes to no one alive at all.

The cold keeps nothing. The cold only slows the losing.
What the ledger won't admit is where the fifth question opens — and it closes only in the tale itself, not in this note.
The Orbital Gardener is live now — runtime 8:42, narrated in English, with Portuguese and Spanish transcripts. It is the fifth tale of Season One: Responsibility.
