A tenant vinedresser keeps putting off the smallest job on his hill — a gap in a hedge, the kind of tomorrow-sized job that never quite arrives. The morning his goats wander through it, an old neighbor's vines pay the price. What follows is a debt no coin can close.

Season One has followed responsibility as a shape that keeps changing: a watch kept without thanks, an inheritance carried forward, a labor no one saw. The fourth tale asks the question the first three never had to answer — what a person owes once the damage is already done.
